The IVF program at California Fertility Partners was founded over thirty years ago by Drs. Richard Marrs and Joyce Vargyas and is responsible for producing some the world’s first IVF babies. We have performed over sixty thousand assisted reproductive procedures and have helped create over ten thousand babies and has had outstanding IVF success rates.
As one of the original premiere fertility centers, California Fertility Partners is sought out by patients throughout the world with long-standing history of infertility, by patients who have failed multiple treatment cycles in other programs, and by physicians seeking expert advice for their patients. Our extensive experience treating a diverse group of patients has re-enforced our belief in the importance of individualized treatment protocols and attention to detail.
Pregnancy rates with IVF have increased significantly in the past decade due to changes in treatment protocols, laboratory conditions, and embryo transfer techniques. Our pregnancy rates reflect these advancements, however it may be difficult to compare IVF success rates among fertility programs because patient characteristics, causes of infertility, and entrance criteria can vary greatly between clinics. In addition, how the pregnancy rates are reported can alter success rates. For example in calculating the pregnancy rate, the denominator can be the number of treatment cycles initiated, or the number of embryo transfers performed. Since IVF cycles can be cancelled prior to embryo transfer, using the number of transfers performed in the calculation can reflect a higher pregnancy rate for the treatment cycle.
Pregnancy rates can also depend on the number of embryos transferred. Transferring more embryos can increase the pregnancy rate, but can also increase the risk of multiple births. Our physicians follow the recommended professional guidelines for the number of embryos transferred.
Our physicians provide individualized care with keen attention to detail throughout the treatment cycle. The IVF laboratory at California Fertility Partners not only provides the most advanced embryo culture techniques available, but the embryology staff possess the skills garnered over time by having been at the forefront of IVF since its inception.
